Although an unscheduled early dismissal like last Friday is unusual, we still need to be sure our families are prepared by having up to date information in the Family File. All families need to have a plan for getting their child when there is an unscheduled early dismissal. Please check your child's Family File found in HCPSS Connect to make sure the information you entered is correct. In addition to checking for updated unscheduled early dismissal plans (located under the Arrival/Departure section), please check for updated phone numbers and emergency contacts.
Decisions and information about unscheduled early dismissals will always be sent out through HCPSS School Messenger in emails from HCPSS and DRES. Please ensure that the phone numbers attached to your School Messenger account are up to date. Be sure to OPT IN to text messaging. In order to receive text messages, the phone number must be listed as a mobile (not home) phone.
We want to remind families that the Recreation and Parks after care program can’t be the plan in case of emergency. This program closes when the school closes early due to weather. We strongly encourage all eligible bus riders to use that service in an unscheduled closing as traffic is often increased during an unexpected closing and may prevent parents from arriving on time.
If you have any questions about your child’s HCPSS account please contact the front office. Please see the attached document for additional help.
