Carolyn Wohnsigl, School Counselor and Soraya Anderson, School Psychologist, will be offering a six-session support group for Deep Run Students who have lost a loved one. We are basing the content on the book, The Invisible String, by Patrice Karst.  In the group, we hope to provide a space for students to explore and express their emotions related to attachment and loss in creative ways and build resiliency and self-confidence. Students will enhance critical thinking and problem-solving skills through play, art, music, discussions and celebrations. The group is open to children in grades K-5 and will meet weekly for six weeks. The time of the group will rotate through the schedule so that students do not miss the same content area more than once. Parents and care givers will be invited to attend the last session.
