A Message from PTA About Staff Appreciation Week--May 3-7
The staff at Deep Run are amazing and they have been doing an awesome job supporting our children in such a crazy time. We really want to show the staff how great they are during Staff Appreciation Week and how much the community really does appreciate them! The PTA is hoping that you might be willing to donate some gift cards for a gift basket raffle or sponsor a lunch for the Deep Run Staff.
Staff appreciation week will be May 3-7. If you would like to participate in supporting our staff please sign up on our Signup Genius! All items can be dropped off at the office of Deep Run Elementary before April 30th at 4pm.
Yearbook Orders
We will have a yearbook for the 20-21 school year! Students who come to school in groups A, B, and E will receive a paper order form. Yearbooks can also be ordered on line by going to https://www.strawbridge.net/ and using the code FMYB108429. Yearbooks are $15 each.

Have Some Fun--Celebrate Dandelions
Howard County earned our BEE CITY status last year. Now that spring has finally returned, we are once again celebrating our local bees and pollinators. Did you know that dandelions are actually a member of the sunflower and daisy family? and they are one of the most important early nectar sources for bees? Dandelions should be celebrated! Check out the attached flyer for information about a fun Dandelion Photo Contest, open to all Howard County residents. Photo submissions due by May 7, 2021. HCPSS/The Council of Elders Financial Education Series Budget Basics Workshop
This virtual workshop session will be on Saturday, April 17 from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Grades 3-12 students and their families are invited to learn about electronic and virtual financial transactions and key financial principles. Kindergarten and PreK Registration
Kindergarten registration started March 8th and prekindergarten registration begins March 15th.Read more
School pictures will be held on April 28th at Deep Run Elementary. Safety measures will be in place inluding masks and social distancing. Parents will bring their children to the gym for their scheduled picture.

Free Food on Saturdays in March and Aprilk
Free Food Distribution: Families will receive a box of food that contains 30.5 pounds of fresh fruit, vegetables, dairy, and meat. The boxes will be distributed on Saturdays in March beginning at 10:00 am and ending at noon, or earlier if the food is gone. The distribution will take place at Long Reach High School and Ducketts Lane Elementary School, 6501 Ducketts Lane, Elkridge, MD 21075, on the following dates.
