Quarter 3 Report Cards Available Online 4/8 at 5pm
Parents/guardians will have access to view report cards at 5:00pm. on April 8th. Parents/guardians may view/download report cards by taking the following steps:
Log in to HCPSS Connect Synergy using parent/guardian credentials
Select More Options from the left panel
Select Report Cards from the middle
Select the report card you wish to access
Paper copies of report cards will go home in Wednesday folders on April 20th.
Rockin Ranger School Store
The Rockin' Ranger School Store is open for student shopping on the stage in the cafeteria from 9:10-9:25am on alternating Wednesdays for primary/K-2 and intermediate/3-5 (see schedule below). Click here to see the types of items available to purchase with prices. There is a $5 maximum for purchases. There will be an opportunity for students on late buses, safety patrols, and others to order items and have them delivered to their classroom.

Covid-19 Home Test Kits
Covid-19 home test kits were sent home with students this past Wednesday. We encourage famiilies to use the at-home tests prior to returning from spring break. Reminder that all students and staff are to remain home if they are experiencing symptom(s) associated with any communicable disease, including COVID-19. Details on daily health checks are available online. If your child is exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms, please use your test kit as an additional mitigation effort to keep our schools and offices healthy, and/or access one of many available public testing sites in your area.
What Do I Need to Show as Proof of a Negative Covid Test Result
Effective April 5, 2022, if a student or staff member exhibits COVID-like symptoms, the parent/guardian or staff may submit any of the following to show proof of a negative test and return to the building:
• Negative PCR test result - A copy of the test result should be emailed to the school nurse or health assistant
• Negative rapid test result - A copy of the test result should be emailed to the school nurse or health assistant
• Negative at-home test result - A photo of the negative test, along with the student or staff member's full name, date of birth, and the date and time the test was taken should be emailed to the school nurse or health assistant, who will follow up with parents/guardians as necessary.
A negative rapid test result will not require a confirmatory PCR test if the student or staff member has not been identified as a close contact or part of a cohort outbreak
Pop-Up Food Pantry at Deep Run ES on April 9th
The Catholic Community of Ascension and St. Augustine (CCASTA) is sponsoring a “Pop-Up Pantry” on Saturday, April 9th at Deep Run. CCASTA will begin distributing items at 11:00 am.
Anyone Deep Run families in need are welcome to stop by and take available items, but some quantities may be limited based on availability and the number of people who show up.

PTA Meeting April 19th--Mix and Mingle
Come to the PTA meeting on April 19th at 7pm to learn how you can support the PTA in the 22-23 school year.
PTA Outdoor Movie Night April 29th: Encanto!
The Deep Run PTA will show Disney's Encanto on April 29th at Outdoor Movie Night. The event begins at 6:00 with a picnic. Bring your own dinner or purchase dinner from DMV Taqueria food truck. The movie will begin at 7:30. Concessions will be sold. This event is for Deep Run families. All children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
Free Clothes Giveaway on April 30th
Free summer and spring clothes will be given away on April 30th from 10-12 at the North Laurel Community Center, 2411 Whiskey Bottom Road in Laurel.
Maryland Special Education Involvement Survey
Parents of students receiving special education services are encouraged to complete a Maryland State Department of Education survey, which will help guide efforts to improve special education and related services. Complete and return a hard copy recently mailed from MSDE to parents, or complete the survey online at www.mdparentsurvey.com no later than May 27.
