Congratulations to our wonderful students for their hard work, engagement, and persistence throughout the first three quarters of our school year. Our teachers. and entire staff, are appreciative of the ongoing partnership and encouragement our families provide.
3rd Quarter Report Cards are available to families via HCPSS Connect. Report Cards offer an important opportunity for families to review student academic progress together so that growth and accomplishments may be celebrated, while goals to address areas needed for improvement may also be established. The Deep Run staff is extrememly proud of the students and the growth they made during the third quarter!

School pictures will be held on April 28th at Deep Run Elementary. Safety measures will be in place inluding masks and social distancing. Parents will bring their children to the gym for their scheduled picture.

Commit to the HCPSS Digital Education Center for 21-22 by May 5th
The Howard County Public School System is planning for a full-time online option for students entering grades K-12 who wish to learn virtually for the 2021-2022 school year. Once finalized, the Digital Education Center (DEC) program will give students the opportunity to take classes and earn credits virtually, while receiving support services from both the DEC and their assigned home school. DEC students will continue to be enrolled in their assigned home school and will be able to participate in athletics and activities at that school if/as schedules and transportation allows. Parents/guardians who wish to commit to the DEC should log in to HCPSS Connect Synergy by Wednesday, May 5 at 4 p.m. Read more

Library Media Books
We are still missing hundreds of our library/media books. Please check around your homes to see if there are any books that belong to the Deep Run Library Media Center. They can be dropped off at school or students can bring them in to school when they attend in-person learning. Thank you for your assistance!
A Message from PTA About Staff Appreciation Week--May 3-7
The staff at Deep Run are amazing and they have been doing an awesome job supporting our children in such a crazy time. We really want to show the staff how great they are during Staff Appreciation Week and how much the community really does appreciate them! The PTA is hoping that you might be willing to donate some gift cards for a gift basket raffle or sponsor a lunch for the Deep Run Staff.
Staff appreciation week will be May 3-7. If you would like to participate in supporting our staff please sign up on our Signup Genius! All items can be dropped off at the office of Deep Run Elementary before April 30th at 4pm.
Yearbook Orders
We will have a yearbook for the 20-21 school year! Students who come to school in groups A, B, and E will receive a paper order form. Yearbooks can also be ordered on line by going to https://www.strawbridge.net/ and using the code FMYB108429. Yearbooks are $15 each.
Free Food on Saturdays in April and May
Free Food Distribution: Families will receive a box of food that contains 30.5 pounds of fresh fruit, vegetables, dairy, and meat. The boxes will be distributed on Saturdays in March beginning at 10:00 am and ending at noon, or earlier if the food is gone. The distribution will take place at Long Reach High School and Ducketts Lane Elementary School, 6501 Ducketts Lane, Elkridge, MD 21075, on the following dates.
Saturday, April 24, 2021 (special distribution by the pool in the Deep Run mobile home park from 9:45-10:45)
