Report Cards Issued Online on Monday, January 31
Parents/guardians will have access to view report cards at 4:00pm. on January 31. Parents/guardians may view/download report cards by taking the following steps:
Log in to HCPSS Connect Synergy using parent/guardian credentials
Select More Options from the left panel
Select Report Cards from the middle
Select the report card you wish to access
Paper copies of report cards will go home in Wednesday folders on February 2nd.
Parent Teacher Conferences on February 10th and 11th
Thursday, February 10th and Friday, February 11th are designated for Virtual Parent Teacher Conferences following early dismissal for students. We will be holding 20-minute conferences, with a focus on math. All conferences will be held virtually with your child’s math teacher. A google link code for your conference will be sent to you with your confirmation email.
Beginning Friday, January 28th at 8:00am, and continuing to Friday, February 4th at 4:00pm, you can log on to HCPSS Connect at www.hcpss.org/connect to access Synergy Conference Management. You can then choose your desired 20-minute conference time from the math teacher’s availability. Click here for directions to schedule your conference. HCPSS/Soleil Pharmacy Vaccine Clinics for Children 5-11
Please click on the links below to learn more about upcoming vaccine clinics for children ages 5-11.
The Deep Run site will distribute the second dose on February 15th. If children receive the first dose this day, families will be given a place to go for their second dose.
DRES Pet Supply Drive--January
The DRES Pet Supply Drive is being sponsored by our 3rd Grade Umoja Leaders Group in honor of the MLK Day of Service. Donation boxes are in each grade level pod area for students to donate supplies during the month of January. Supplies include used blankets, sheets, and towels, wet or dry food, new or used pet toys, bowls, or newspapers.
All donations will go to the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center.
Howard County Library Pop-Up Library in Deep Run Mobile Home Park
The Howard County Library's Pop-Up Library is coming to Deep Run Park on Wednesday, January 26th from 2-4 pm. This is for children, ages infant to age 5, and their caregiver. The Pop-Up Library will also be in Deep Run Park on February 9th and 23rd.

Free Tax Preparation Services
MakingChange, Inc. partners with the Internal Revenue Service under the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) to offer free income tax preparation services for low-to-moderate income families, making $57,000 or less, who need assistance preparing their tax returns.
Virtual Community Academy: Social Media--What Parents Need to Know
Participants in this virtual community academy on January 29th will learn about the most popular social media sites students are accessing and effective practices for keeping children safe when using social media.
This session is open to parents/guardians of students at all levels, and is free to attend.

This program is part of a series of workshops sponsored by HCPSS and The Council of Elders.
Kindergarten Registration Begins March 7th
Children must be 5 years old by September 1 in order to enroll in kindergarten. Every child who is 5 years old by September 1 must be enrolled in a kindergarten program this fall or have an approved waiver.

Volunteer/Observer Vaccine Requirement
All volunteers and chaperones who interact with students, and parents/guardians who are conducting classroom observations will be required to use the PinPoint platform to show proof of full vaccination at least five school days in advance. Read more

All parents/guardians are to perform a COVID-19 health check every day before your student leaves home. Students are not to come to school if they are experiencing any symptom(s) associated with COVID-19 or other communicable disease.
